My Journey – From a DAVian to a Pediatric Surgeon and Healthcare Entrepreneur

Every journey has a beginning, and mine began in 1989 in Bokaro Steel City, Jharkhand.

My early schooling started at DAV Sector 4, Bokaro, where I studied up to UKG. Later, I moved to DAV Public School, Hehal, Ranchi, where I spent some of the most memorable and formative years of my life, from Class I to Class XII.

DAV was not just a place where I studied; it was where I learned the values of discipline, dedication, perseverance and the importance of dreaming big.

After completing Class X in 2005, I chose the Science stream with Mathematics and Biology and completed my higher secondary education in 2007.

In 2008, I took my first major step towards fulfilling my dream of becoming a doctor by joining JJM Medical College, Davangere, Karnataka. I completed my MBBS in 2014.

My professional journey began at BLK-Max Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi, where I worked for three years as a Junior Resident in the Department of Urology and Renal Transplantation.

However, my heart was always drawn towards the surgical care of children. In 2017, I chose Pediatric Surgery as my dream specialty. It was a challenging but deeply fulfilling journey, and after years of hard work and dedication, I completed my DrNB in Pediatric Surgery in June 2023.

I subsequently joined Neotia Getwel Hospital, Siliguri, as an Associate Consultant in Pediatric Surgery, where I worked until February 2024.

From February 2024 to January 2026, I served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatric Surgery at IMS and SUM Hospital, Bhubaneswar. This experience enriched me not only as a surgeon but also as an academician and mentor.

Today, I have embarked on a new chapter of my professional life — the journey of entrepreneurship.

I am the Founder / Director & Full-Time Consultant at Wonderbloom Pediatric and Pediatric Surgical Centre of Excellence, Bhubaneswar, a dedicated mother-and-child healthcare initiative built with the vision of providing comprehensive, advanced and compassionate healthcare under one roof.

Alongside my entrepreneurial responsibilities, I continue to practise as a Consultant Pediatric Surgeon, striving to bring hope to families and the best possible surgical care to children.

Looking back, I feel immensely grateful to my teachers, mentors, friends, family and everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. Above all, I remain grateful to DAV for laying the foundation of the person I am today.

From the classrooms of DAV to the operating rooms of a hospital, and now to building a healthcare institution of my own — the journey has been full of learning, challenges, sacrifices and dreams.

I strongly believe that success is not just about achieving personal milestones; it is about creating something meaningful for society and making a difference in the lives of others.
